  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract or vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups mini chocolate chips
  • 10 chopped maraschino cherries
  • 1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 container (8oz) Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, milk, vegetable oil, cherry juice, egg whites, and almond extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. Fold in mini chocolate chips and all-purpose flour gently until combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the baking pan and bake for about 22 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. While warm, poke holes throughout the cake and pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over it.
  6. Let cool completely before refrigerating for at least an hour.
  7. Spread Cool Whip on top, sprinkle with chopped cherries, and drizzle hot fudge sauce if desired.
