Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. For the brownie batter, melt unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Mix in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined, then sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt; mix until smooth.
  3. For the chocolate chip cookie dough, cream together softened butter with granulated and brown sugars. Add egg and vanilla; beat until fluffy. Gradually mix in flour, baking soda, and salt before folding in chocolate chips.
  4. Pour brownie batter into the prepared dish and drop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top, gently pressing down for a marbled effect.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes until edges are set but the center remains slightly gooey.
  6. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
