  • 4 g baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 170 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp almond extract (optional)
  • 54 g Special occasion jimmies sprinkles
  • 283 g cream cheese, softened
  • 184 g salted butter, softened
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 150 g powdered sugar, sifted
  • 80 ml heavy cream, very cold
  • 40 g Special occasion sprinkles (jimmies, nonpareils, trees, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar in a stand mixer until fluffy. Add egg and extracts; mix well.
  4. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in sprinkles.
  5. Portion dough into balls and flatten slightly on the baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set but tops remain soft.
  7. Cool cookies before frosting with cream cheese mixture and adding more sprinkles.
