Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 7oz can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 8 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 2 tsps chipotle powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsps salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine chipotle peppers, apple cider vinegar, honey, olive oil, lime juice, cilantro, garlic, cumin, chili powder, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  2. Place the steak in a large bowl and pour the marinade over it (reserve ¼ cup for later). Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat an oiled skillet over high heat. Remove steak from marinade and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Let the steak rest briefly before slicing against the grain into thin strips or cubes.
  5. Return cubed steak to the skillet with reserved marinade and sauté on high heat for about 20-30 seconds until warmed through.
