  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 15 oz can Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 15 oz can Kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup ditalini pasta
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat.
  2. Brown ground beef for about 3 to 5 minutes; drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. Sauté diced carrots, onion, celery, and minced garlic in the same pot for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
  4. Return beef to pot; add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, and broth. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in ditalini pasta and seasonings; continue simmering for another 10 minutes until pasta is cooked.
  6. Add fresh chopped basil before serving hot.
