Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 15 oz can diced tomatoes
- 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 15 oz can Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
- 15 oz can Kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup ditalini pasta
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat.
- Brown ground beef for about 3 to 5 minutes; drain excess fat and set aside.
- Sauté diced carrots, onion, celery, and minced garlic in the same pot for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
- Return beef to pot; add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, and broth. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in ditalini pasta and seasonings; continue simmering for another 10 minutes until pasta is cooked.
- Add fresh chopped basil before serving hot.
