Ingredients

  • 200g (7 oz) fettuccine or linguine
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200ml heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 250g (9 oz) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt, pepper, paprika to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot and cook the pasta until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sauté in a skillet with butter over medium heat until pink (about 2-3 minutes per side). Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, melt more butter, add garlic, and sauté until fragrant. Stir in cream and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Gradually mix in parmesan until melted.
  4. Combine cooked pasta with the Alfredo sauce and shrimp in the skillet. Toss to coat evenly.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with optional parsley or extra cheese.
