  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Flour for dredging
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup white apple vinegar
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise and season with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and coat in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and sliced mushrooms with Italian seasoning; cook until mushrooms release their water, about 5-6 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic; cook for an additional minute before adding white apple vinegar to deglaze the pan.
  5. Let sauce bubble for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half; then stir in heavy cream and return chicken to the skillet.
  6. Simmer for another five minutes until fully cooked and sauce thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning if needed.
