- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 cup salted butter, cubed and cold
- 1 cup cold buttermilk + 1–2 tsp extra, as needed
- 1–2 tbsp heavy cream, for brushing tops of biscuits
- coarse sugar, for sprinkling
- 1 and 1/4 cups cold heavy cream
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prep the strawberries by mixing them with sugar and optional jam. Chill in the refrigerator.
- For the biscuits, mix dry ingredients, cut in cold butter, then combine with buttermilk until a dough forms.
- Shape the dough and fold several times to create layers, then cut into biscuits.
- Bake chilled biscuits until golden brown.
- Prepare whipped cream by beating together heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
