Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Korean rice cakes
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  1. If using frozen rice cakes, soak them in water for 20-30 minutes until softened. Pat dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. Heat neutral oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the rice cakes without touching them for about 2 minutes until crispy and golden on one side.
  3. Flip the rice cakes carefully and cook for another 3 minutes until evenly colored. Remove from the skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter, honey, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Return the fried rice cakes to the pan and toss gently in the sauce for an additional 1-2 minutes until well-coated and glazed.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
