  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 12 ounces tomato paste
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until meat is fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and seasonings. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta with egg and half of the Parmesan.
  6. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella three times; finish with remaining sauce and cheeses on top.
  7. Cover with foil (sprayed) and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
