- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup dark cocoa powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp fine salt
- 1 cup coarse sanding sugar
- 48 orange sweetheart or conversation heart candies – cut in half
- Round, flat, black sprinkles
- Round, flat, pink sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together unsalted butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla; mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets and flatten slightly. Bake for about 13 minutes until edges are firm but centers remain soft.
- Let cool on wire racks before decorating with buttercream frosting and sprinkles.
