  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until translucent.
  2. Stir in crushed tomatoes, water, Italian seasoning, sugar, garlic powder, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  3. Break lasagna noodles into 1-inch pieces and add to the skillet. Cover and simmer for about 18-20 minutes until noodles are tender.
  4. Top with dollops of ricotta cheese and sprinkle with mozzarella. Cover until cheese melts.
