Ingredients
- 500 g lean minced beef
- 1 medium red onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 3 stalks celery
- 400 g chopped tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato purée
- 400 g mixed beans in chilli sauce
- 200 ml beef stock
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 ½ teaspoon chilli powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder or 1 small square of dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
Instructions
- Brown the minced beef with diced onion and garlic in a skillet until cooked through.
- Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker and add diced celery, chopped tomatoes, tomato purée, mixed beans, beef stock, and spices. Mix well.
- Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 5 hours. Adjust seasoning as needed before serving.
