  • 2 pounds chicken breasts or thighs
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup flour or gluten-free flour
  • 1/3 cup tamari or soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste
  • 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper and chili flakes
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter or extra virgin olive oil
  • Sesame seeds and green onion, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or oil.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cubed chicken, garlic powder, black pepper, and chili flakes. Toss in flour until well-coated.
  3. Drizzle melted butter or olive oil over the chicken and toss again. Arrange chicken on one side of the baking sheet and broccoli on the other; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Bake for 10-15 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
  6. Once baked, coat the chicken with the sauce and return to the oven for another 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
