  • Popsicle sticks or bamboo apple sticks
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • ¼ teaspoon red food coloring (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon flavor (optional)

Instructions

  1. Insert popsicle sticks into the top of each apple and set aside.
  2. Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper and spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water; stir until mixed well. Bring to a boil over high heat while stirring regularly, then reduce heat to medium once boiling. Add food coloring and cinnamon flavor if desired.
  4. Boil until the mixture reaches hard crack stage (300-310°F), approximately 15-20 minutes, then remove from heat carefully.
  5. Quickly dip each apple into the hot sugar mixture until fully coated, then place them on the prepared baking sheet to cool completely.
