  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Mix eggs, ice water, and lemon juice; combine with flour mixture to form dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Make the Filling: Toss sliced apples with sugars, cornstarch, spices, lemon juice, and vanilla.
  3. Preheat Oven: Heat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch pan.
  4. Assemble: Roll out dough for the bottom crust in the pan, fill with apple mixture, then cover with top crust. Cut vents.
  5. Bake: Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool and Glaze: Allow to cool before glazing with whisked powdered sugar, milk, and melted butter.
