Ingredients
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 2/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 11 oz log of soft goat cheese
- 2 cups oil (grapeseed, canola or vegetable oil)
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp minced fresh chives
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix flour and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk egg, salt, and water until smooth. In a third bowl, place panko breadcrumbs.
- Roll goat cheese into 24 balls (about 1 tbsp each). Coat each ball in flour mixture, dip in egg wash, then roll in panko breadcrumbs. Freeze for about 20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep saucepan to 350°F. Fry poppers in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm on a platter drizzled with honey and sprinkled with chives.
