  • ¾ cup milk

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • zest of one lemon
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for glaze)

  • 2 Tablespoons warm water (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine chopped strawberries, milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  4. Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the glaze, mix sugar with lemon juice and warm water; drizzle over the cooled bread.
